Similac Formula RECALL 2022

As of February 17, 2022, Abbot Nutrition is voluntarily recalling 3 types of infant formula that might potentially be contaminated with either Cronobacter and Salmonella bacteria after 4 babies became sick after consuming their products.

The recall is for selected lots of Similac, Alimentum, and EleCare formulas. The recalled lots are POWDER formulas and were manufactured in Sturgis, Michigan. More information available at where you can type in the information at the bottom of the formula package to check. You can also call 1-800-986-8540 and follow the instructions provided.  Please check your formula stock and DO NOT use any of the recalled products.

Symptoms of Cronobacter infection in infants is usually a fever, accompanied by poor feeding, crying, or very low energy. Most infants infected with Salmonella develop diarrhea and fever. If your baby develops these symptoms and they drank formula from a recalled lot of Similac/Alimentum/EleCare, please take them to the ER for prompt evaluation.
